Our busy season is ending and we are excitedly getting ready for our big move to our new building. We currently expect to move into the Fuqua location in mid-March to early-April. In anticipation of this move we are closing suites 122 and 208 in December.
What does this mean for interns?
All iternships other than Wildlife Rehabilitation are closed until Summer 2025. The Spring Wildlife Rehabilitation internship will have either a shortened term or shifted dates that move into Summer. Thank you so much for your interest in interning with us. We will update the website when the move is complete.
HHS Wildlife Center would like to invite college students and aspiring professionals in the Zoology, Wildlife Biology, Pre-Vet, and Public Relations/Marketing fields to apply for our unpaid internship opportunities.
Each of our internship opportunities are interactive and overseen by our trained staff. HHSWC interns will be exposed to our rehabilitation, education, animal care, and marketing programs as well as assist with our daily operations and special events. Throughout your internship, we will offer you training in wildlife handling and care, non-profit business practices, and specialized training helping to give you a competitive edge in pursuing your career.
Come join us and learn about our mission to promote environmental conservation through public education and the rehabilitation of Texas wildlife.

Testimonial:
“HHSWC is an unforgettable experience that has taught me a deep appreciation for wildlife animals. It provided a diverse opportunity where you get to be hands-on giving medications, fluids, and tube feeding various animals that you do not get to do anywhere else. The staff at HHSWC is always willing and able to teach you techniques and skills that will help you across many different fields of study. HHSWC is a must for anyone interested in wildlife or veterinary medicine!” ~ Kathy Hulbert
“Becoming a HHSWC intern was the best way for me to learn about wildlife and how to care for them. The staff was very welcoming since my first day and looked forward to teaching me new things. Any questions you have about wildlife they can always answer it for you or look forward to researching new things with you. I look forward to my future career in wildlife thanks to them!” -Bella Smith
