Advanced Shift: The Admissions Intake Volunteer works in the Center with our admissions team at the intake desk. This is the first interaction the public will have when they bring in an animal, so it is imperative that volunteers conduct themselves with the highest standards. Our admissions team is critical to the success of our center and our volunteers make a difference by allowing the team to focus on the hotline.
Primary Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Greet and assist rescuers
- Process incoming wildlife
- Intake/admission of animals utilizing our intake software
- Aquaria set up
- Laundry
- Cutting newspaper
- Other daily cleaning tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Must be 18 or older
- Must pass a background check
- Must complete volunteer registration and orientation
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must complete 12 hours of Admissions Shadow Training to volunteer
- Volunteers are required to commit to 16 hours per month to volunteer in Admissions.
- Â 16 hours of Support Shifts are required before being considered to train in Admissions
Changing Office Locations:
The HHS Wildlife Center will be changing locations to a new and improved building in 2024. The new location will be 3100 W. Fuqua Street, Houston, TX 77045.Â
