Wild Wranglers

After becoming a Wild Rider, volunteers can complete additional training to become a Wild Wrangler. This training will provide volunteers with the necessary skills to capture uncontained wildlife safely and humanely and then transport them to the Houston Humane Society Wildlife Center to receive professional care and rehabilitation. These sick, injured, or ill wild animals have been found by rescuers who are unable or unwilling to handle the animal in need of help. Without the Wild Wranglers, there would be lots of wildlife that would be unable to get the help they desperately need.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Join the on-call list and transport wildlife to the center

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Attend Wild Wrangler Training

The HHS Wildlife Center will be changing locations to a new and improved building in 2024. The new location will be 3100 W. Fuqua Street, Houston, TX 77045.
